CSSC Lab project
Based on a recent study published by EUSDR PA2, renewable energy sources will provide 50% of total energy demand in Southeast Europe during 2030. With a higher level of use of renewable energy sources, energy storage will become a key step in the next phase of the energy transition in all countries within the Danube region. Even in the most developed areas, the introduction of innovative solutions for energy storage and sectoral connections has only just begun to gain in importance. As these challenges are particularly pronounced in medium and small towns, adequate solutions are needed for urban energy storage and sector connectivity, to ensure energy efficiency and increase energy security.
The CSSC Lab project will enable the use of renewable energy sources and the introduction of innovative solutions for energy storage and sectoral connections in medium and small cities within the Danube region. Their implementation is currently at a low level because public institutions do not have enough knowledge and do not invest enough in these solutions. In order to overcome this barrier, through the CSSC Lab project, capacity building programs for municipalities will be implemented and the sustainability of CSSC solutions in medium and small towns within the Danube region will be demonstrated.
