“How many of you think it is important to be creative? And how many of you think you are creative?” Those were the questions which with marvelous Fredrik Haren opened CODE on MeetUp on the topic“ Montenegrin creativity: Let yourself think in new ways ”.
Participants of the new edition of CODE on MeetUp this time had a unique opportunity to attend a lecture by Fredrik Haren, one of the world’s most famous authors and lecturers on creativity and innovation. In his rich career, he has toured in over 65 countries and collaborated with world-famous brands such as American Express, IKEA, KPMG, China Mobile and many others, and is the author of “The Idea Book”, which was selected among the 100 best works in business of all time.
“In today’s business world, being creative is invaluable, but it is also important to educate people to think creatively,” said Mr. Haren, who in an extremely interesting lecture inspired participants to ask a number of questions. In one of the answers, he emphasized that in the world we live in, it is very difficult to come up with the right idea. In that direction, he draws his ideas by combining knowledge and information, studying the culture and customs of different peoples, wondering first and foremost what makes them creative.
What can the world learn from Montenegrin creativity? One of the questions that motivated Mr. Haren to visit Montenegro and the question that was addressed to the participants of CODE on MeetUp. According to him, openness to new friendships is the main feature of our society, which in his rich experience of traveling the world he has never met. “Being friendly is one of the key things for realizing your ideas,” says Mr. Haren, concluding: “Self-confidence and a big heart are key elements of Montenegrin creativity.”
