Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis is organizing a Hackathon for High School students with the Theme “Digital Solution for a Social or Environmental Problem in the Community,” to be Held on June 17 and 18, 2024.
The hackathon represents an excellent opportunity for high school students to showcase their skills, gain new knowledge, and contribute to solving significant problems in the community.
What is a Hackathon?
A hackathon is an event that brings together innovators and enthusiasts to work intensively on developing creative and technical solutions for specific challenges within a limited time frame. The word “hackathon” is derived from “hacking” and “marathon,” symbolizing an intense, collaborative effort on technological projects. Usually organized into teams, participants are tasked with designing, developing, and presenting their solutions to a panel of experts.
The objective of the Hackathon
Our hackathon aims to gather talented high school students to develop innovative digital solutions for current social or environmental problems in the community. Over 24 hours, students will work in teams of five, developing their solutions with the guidance of renowned mentors, and finally presenting their solutions to an expert jury.
Support and Prizes
All participants will have the necessary conditions for work, including meals and mentorship throughout the event. We are particularly excited to award valuable cash prizes to the best teams. The total prize fund amounts to 3,000 euros.
This activity is carried out within the project “Creating a Stimulating Business Environment for Youth Employment in the Cross-Border Area of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro – BEYOND,” co-financed by the European Union within the financial instrument of pre-accession assistance (IPA II) through the Serbia-Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014–2020. IEC Tehnopolis implements the project with the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor and the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.
