Why is EIT Jumpstarter the right choice for you?

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is organizing a new round of the Jumpstarter pre-acceleration program this spring, which is ideal for teams with innovative business ideas, who want to turn their idea into a source of income!

With the help of experts, creative community, unique knowledge and technology, their goal is to support idea holders to develop their ideas, test them in the market and create a sustainable business. The program covers seven thematic areas:

health care: healthy life, active ageing and improved health care;

raw materials: sustainable finding and supply of materials;

agri-food: optimization of resource efficiency and environmental sustainability of agriculture, primary production, processing, storage, packaging, logistics/distribution, retail, consumer research, nutrition monitoring and food provision; development of food products adapted to the diet…

manufacturing industries: humans and robots for sustainable work, production of additives for complete flexibility, waste-free production for the circular economy, platforms for digitized value networks;

urban mobility: active mobility, sustainable urban logistics, mobility and energy;

new European Bauhaus – building aesthetics that promotes sustainable design and natural materials;

energy – reducing energy costs, increasing system performance and reducing emissions.

As one of the strategic partners of the EIT Jumpstarter program, and in order to provide detailed information on the conditions and criteria of the competition, IEC Tehnopolis is organizing an online Pre-Jumstarter workshop on April 6. Registration is required at the link https://eithealth.eventscase.com/EN/pre-jumpstarter-2021 and all individuals and teams who have an innovative idea from one of the above areas, which they want to develop and dedicate to it, are welcome. At the workshop, you will learn all the details about the program, criteria and how to apply, and thus make the application process easier.

The Jumpstarter competition is divided into several stages:

Phase 1: Submission of ideas

The deadline for applications for the program is April 16, 2021. 23:59 h and applications are made exclusively through the application form at this link. Applicants should emphasize the innovative

concept, the development phase of their idea, the team description, explaining the need that the innovation addresses and the current team challenges.

Phase 2: Bootcamps and trainings (online workshops) – July 2021.

The goal of this phase is to create basic qualitative and quantitative skills for the development of the business model of startups, as well as to improve the skill of pitching, ie. presenting the idea to the investor.

Phase 3: Selection of teams for local joint trainings

Upon completion of the boot camp, the teams will participate in an online pitching competition, after which 120 selected teams will continue with the next phase of the competition – local joint trainings.

Phase 4: Local joint trainings – September 2021.

The trainings will be organized in several different locations and will aim to improve the skills and business models developed by startups during the boot camp. It will last 40 hours and after the end of the process, the teams will be trained to create a concise business plan.

Phase 5: Selection for the EIT Jumpstarter Grand Final – November 2021.

An expert jury will evaluate the business plans prepared by the startups with the help of mentors and invite the 42 best teams (6 from each area) to pitch at the big EIT Jumspstarter final!

The expert jury will select the three best teams from each area, who will receive a cash prize of 10,000 euros for first, 7,000 euros for second and 5,000 euros for third place!

Application criteria:

Proposals must be in English;

Incomplete applications or applications in any other way (eg by e-mail) will not be accepted;

The idea must be within seven main challenges;
