Future activities announced at the kick-off conference of the CROWN project

21.10.2020

The goals, activities, and expected results of the CROWN project were presented today at the kick-off conference, held at the premises of IEC Tehnopolis.

At the very beginning, Aleksandar Janicic, manager for projects and development of entrepreneurship at IEC Tehnopolis, said that this is an important project for Tehnopolis because we will continue to develop innovative export-oriented entrepreneurship from Montenegro through various activities.

“In the next period, we will test 100 students from Montenegro, to identify which students have particularly pronounced characteristics and capacities for the development of their innovative, entrepreneurial ideas. We will continue to work with them and build their capacities and knowledge so that they can go into entrepreneurial waters and at the end of the final of this project will be financing three crowdfunding campaigns for three innovative products or services from Montenegro, which will be placed on the global market.” He especially emphasized the importance of establishing an office for technology transfer, ie intellectual property rights in Technopolis in Niksic, which is one of the most important steps when it comes to the development of innovative ideas in Montenegro.

Mario Celan, director of the Development Agency of Sisak-Moslavina County SI-MO-RA d.o.o. for Encouraging Economic Development, Consulting, and Advocacy, which is the lead partner in this project, said he was particularly pleased that the project managed to provide significant funding for marketing campaigns for teams and their crowdfunding campaigns to be launched on a platform like Kickstarter, Indigogo and many others. It was pointed out that this was the best-rated project for all cross-border cooperation, so they expect great results.

„TP INTERA joined the project from the very beginning for a simple reason, to upgrade what we have been doing in Mostar and Herzegovina for nine years, with the desire to help young people develop their ideas, improve them and create some personal products and services on our and the international market “, said Ana Bogdanovic on behalf of TP INTERA.

During the second part of the conference, the project objectives were presented, namely to improve the capacity to increase entrepreneurial activity in the project area (HR-BA-ME), stimulate the development and growth of start-ups by creating an improved business environment through the creation of a cross-border network.

After the successful completion of the conference, the partners continued to work on the project meeting to create a plan for the implementation of further activities within the project.

The CROWN project is co-financed through ERDF and IPA II funds of the European Union. The lead partner in the project is the Development Agency of Sisak-Moslavina County SI-MO-RA d.o.o. for stimulating economic development, consulting and advocacy, Sisak, Croatia, while the project partners are: IEC Tehnopolis, Foundation for Innovation and Technological Development (INTERA), Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Croatia Mensa, Zagreb, Croatia.
