A tempo dictated by the modern age requires that a man spends most of his time indoors. Therefore, it is necessary that space is at a high level and satisfies all needs. Guided by this idea, but also by everything that the modern world imposes as necessary to function as well as possible, the company Intelligent Building Technologies – IBT has focused its work on creating perfect living conditions, with an emphasis on human health, energy efficiency and comfort. Through gaining new experiences and training staff, they want to offer a domestic product to the Montenegrin and foreign markets. Mihailo Bulajic spoke about their origin, development plan, services, but also future plans.
“IBT Company was created with the idea to introduce and implement smart solutions in construction technology in Montenegro according to all international standards, first of all relying on the Siemens company and their Building Technology Department. As their partner, together with their sister company from Belgrade, Smart Building Technology, with many years of experience, we have started a joint mission of applying modern solutions to a large number of capital projects in Montenegro”, explained Mihailo.
The goal of IBT is to gain enough experience and knowledge through the construction of facilities and preparation of technical documentation, whose use would lead to an authorized solution in the business they are engaged in and then continue with its further development.
Mihailo points out that what sets their company apart on the market is always finding the right solution: “I think we are different because we believe that everything can be done and because we always manage to find the right solution. Every job we take on we try to do as for ourselves, for our house. That is very important to us. “
They got the inspiration to start this type of business and future work through education. “Simply, we were all educated for this type of work and it was a logical sequence of events. It’s very dynamic, so it’s never boring. However, through this job, we see that flexibility and application of knowledge from other areas is important in every job “, explained Mihailo.
Although Montenegro is territorially small, according to Mihailo, it is very connected to the world and has a market that is much larger than it seems at first sight: “The needs in tourism, energetics, manufacturing, health, science and other economic activities are actually our opportunity, because we offer modernization and application of standards in their infrastructure. In the next period, many challenges await us all. If a crisis similar to the one in 2009 occurs, I am sure that a great effort will be needed to reach a recovery. If the population living standard falls, everyone would feel the strong consequences and the question is how long this recovery would take. Montenegro will have to introduce major, strategic changes for the further development of the economy and we must adapt to that. We will definitely try to get to that by improving us so that as few external factors as possible can affect our business.”
The service and products they offer are the construction of power and IT network installation and preparation of technical documentation, first of all in the field of facility automation, smart home systems, security, fire protection, access control, video surveillance, and other systems of LV and HV currents. In addition to Siemens equipment, their offer also includes Crestron smart home and multimedia systems, for various types of applications – residential and tourist facilities, as well as for institutions of any kind.
“We also offer the delivery and installation of diesel-electric generators, delivery and installation of UPS devices, facility maintenance, servicing of complex electrical systems, analytics, and consulting in the field of energy efficiency,” said Mihailo.
The IBT team is made up of engineers and technicians, and as Mihailo points out, they all equally contribute to successful results: ” The engineers of electronics, automation and power systems participate in the preparation of technical documentation. They are Marija Cubrovic, Pava Todorovic, Krsto Djordjevic, Tadija Danilovic, Marko Vujovic, and me.” They pay special attention to the health and safety of all employees. Everyone is exposed to dangers at work on a daily basis, but they must not allow any of the employees to be endangered in any way.
They have been thinking about cooperation with IEC Tehnopolis for a long time because several members of the IBT team are from Nikšić, but they also thought that they can find a common language and participate in joint projects.
“When they explained the concept of the Business Incubator to me in detail, there was no dilemma, we applied and now we are here. We expect to be better than now at the end of the incubation. We hope that in this period, with the help of Tehnopolis, we will be able to develop some of our ideas into a finished product. In any case, I am sure that we will cooperate with IEC Technopolis even after the incubation “, explained Mihailo.
The situation with COVID 19 affected their work because as he explains, everything simply stopped and everyone tried not to waste their resources in uncertain times, so their job, like everyone else’s, dropped a lot.
“Despite the above, we are currently working on a couple of large projects, so we will deal with it in the next period and we will certainly try to implement our solutions on these projects,” concluded Mihailo.
