IEC Tehnopolis as a partner in the MontEDIH Project

17.01.2025

We are excited to share great news with you!

IEC Tehnopolis is participating in implementing the MontEDIH project, coordinated by the University of Montenegro, which marks our country’s full membership in the prestigious network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH).

The project implementation began on January 1, 2025, and will span four years, with a nearly two million euros budget. Of this, 50% is funded by the European Commission, 45% by Montenegro’s Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and the Ministry of Public Administration. In comparison, the remaining 5% will be co-financed by project partners.

MontEDIH will provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the public sector in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, and high-performance computing (HPC). This support will include financial and business consulting, knowledge, and technology transfer, assistance in implementing digital solutions, and promoting circular and green practices.

The project’s focus is on key sectors of Montenegro’s economy—tourism, agriculture, energy, retail, and manufacturing—as well as the digitalization of public administration. Membership in the EDIH network will enable collaboration with leading European centers, granting our institutions and businesses direct access to the latest European digital innovations and expertise.

In addition to the University of Montenegro as the coordinator, partners in the implementation of this significant project include: the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, University of Donja Gorica, Institute of Contemporary Technologies of Montenegro, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis – Niksic, Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, Center for Finance LLC Podgorica, and ICT Cortex – a cluster for information technology, education, design, and technological development in Montenegro.
