Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis organizes the regional conference Agriculture driven by innovations, which will be held on March 30th, 2023 in the premises of IPC Technopolis (Multimedia Hall).
The conference is organized within the framework of the FILA Plus project, which represents the capitalization of the achieved results of the previously implemented FILA project, co-financed by the INTERREG IPA cross-border cooperation program Italy – Albania – Montenegro 2014 – 2020.
During the implementation of the FILA project, IEC Tehnopolis actively worked to improve the cooperation between the key actors of the innovation system from the business and academic community of Montenegro in order to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises by better access to research, and all with the aim of creating innovative solutions by establishing the first innovation laboratory and fertilization in agro-food in Montenegro (FILA innovative laboratory).
The main goal of the Agriculture Driven by Innovations conference is to strengthen the connection between relevant actors from the agri-food sector by sharing knowledge about innovative technologies, approaches and challenges in the field of smart agriculture, not only at the national but also at the regional level. The conference will serve as a tool for connecting and encouraging the development of innovations in the agri-food sector through presentations of best practice examples. Also, during the conference, the importance of a sustainable agricultural and food sector and food value chains, which are in accordance with the S3 Strategy of Smart Specialization of Montenegro, will be highlighted.
During the conference, participants will learn about the application of robotics and automation in agriculture, after which representatives of relevant institutions from Montenegro and the region will discuss the concept of smart and sustainable agriculture, examples of best practice, and opportunities for further improvement. In addition, sustainable agriculture and food value chains will be discussed during the conference as one of the priority areas of S3 Smart Specialization Strategy of Montenegro. National and regional speakers, as well as examples of best practice, will introduce participants to the challenges in implementing innovations in agriculture, as well as the available support that is crucial for the development of innovative solutions. At the very end of the conference, through a panel session, participants will have the opportunity to hear more about the benefits of digitizing the agritourism offer through the presentation of best practice examples from Montenegro and the region when it comes to this topic, and about the experiences and challenges they encountered during the development of their business.
The working language of the conference will be English, and simultaneous translation will be provided for all interested participants.
