As part of the second work package and output of the DEV 2.1 Erasmus + project “Sustainable Development of Blue Economies through higher education and innovation in the Western Balkans – BLUEWBC”, a Zoom meeting was held on Friday, October 23, 2020, organized by the partner institution Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) from Lithuania. In addition to members of the team of the University of Montenegro, coordinating institutions of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro and the Innovation and entrepreneurship center Tehnopolis, students from the Maritime Faculty Kotor and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality attended the event.
The meeting focused on the experience of VGTU so far, their centers for innovation and entrepreneurship, which are based on university units, as well as good practice in connecting students with the business sector. The second part of the meeting was marked by interviews on the topic of curriculum development, alumni associations, marketing activities, teaching bases, the introduction of courses oriented towards innovation and entrepreneurship, etc.
It was agreed that the next technical meeting will be held next month when the recommendations of the EU partner institutions in concretizing the preparation and adaptation of modern forms of curricula at our faculties will be presented.
The BLUEWBC project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus + Program. The leading partner in the project is NTNU Trondheim University Norway while the project partners are: IEC Tehnopolis, University of Montenegro, Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, University of Vlora, University of Tirana, University of Split, Vilnius Gedimino Technical University (Lithuania), Durres Main Maritime Administration and NTNV Ocean Training Olesun.
