Through the Green CBC project, the Biotechnology laboratory, Biolab Tehnopolis, provides new opportunities to support the development of the green economy and becomes a part of the Cross-border Open innovation bioeconomy network.
Biolab Tehnopolis was established in order to support agricultural producers and agricultural development, both through the provision of its own services and through the integration of the academic and business sectors in order to encourage the transfer of knowledge and innovation.
Having in mind that responsible and sustainable soil use is the key to stable agricultural production and development, within the Green CBC project funded by the European Union within the INTERREG IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program for Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro 2014-2020, Biolab has the opportunity to significantly improve its capacity by purchasing additional equipment for analysis of soil and final products, putting them in order to contribute to the development of sustainable agriculture and environmental pollution reduction, by optimizing the use of fertilizers, plant protection products and final products control.
With the tightening of the criteria defined by the regulations of the European Commission in relation to the reliability of the applied methods, the laboratories are facing increasingly stringent analytical requirements. With the increase in capacity, the laboratory will be able to offer a wide range of analyses that could contribute to sustainable development and confirm the quality and safety of agricultural products.
In addition, by becoming a part of the Cross-border Open innovation bioeconomy network, Biolab will, through connections with relevant institutions at the regional level, contribute to the development of the bioeconomy and business environment in the program area.
The Green CBC project is co-financed through ERDF and IPA II European Union funds, within the INTERREG IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program for Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro 2014-2020.
The project lead partner is the Croatian Chamber of Economy, while the project partners are: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis, Competence Centre Ltd. for Research and Development, Vinkovci and Northeast Regional Development Association, NERDA, Tuzla.
