The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis opens applications for this year’s Startup Camp for students, a five-day educational and development program that will be held from March 16 to 21 at the Vucje Tourist Center in Niksic.
The Startup Camp is an intensive program designed to give young people the opportunity to turn their innovative ideas into concrete business concepts, with the support of experienced mentors, successful entrepreneurs and experts in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Who is the Startup Camp intended for?
The Startup Camp is a five-day event intended for students who want to:
- learn the basics and principles of entrepreneurship;
- recognize and develop a sustainable business idea;
- master the process of creating a business model and business plan;
- understand the path from idea to investment.
Through interactive lectures, practical workshops and teamwork, participants will go through the complete process of developing a startup idea – from initial inspiration to the final pitch presentation.
The goal of the Camp is education and knowledge transfer, exchange of experiences with successful entrepreneurs and startup teams, as well as networking future leaders of the innovation ecosystem.
What awaits Camp participants?
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Get to know the concept of a startup and explore the innovation ecosystem of Montenegro;
- Learn how to recognize, validate and develop entrepreneurial ideas;
- Develop business models using the Lean Canvas methodology;
- Apply the Design Thinking approach in creative problem solving;
- Understand the processes of commercialization and building competitive advantage;
- Explore available sources of funding and support programs for startups;
- Improve pitch presentation and public speaking in front of investors and an expert jury.
Participants will be divided into teams and will work together on developing an idea that they will present to an expert jury on the final day, and the best teams will receive cash prizes.
In addition to the official program, the Camp also brings additional activities, such as a hiking tour, movie night, team socializing, and an entertainment program after the workshops.
Important information:
- The number of places is limited, and the selection of applicants will be made by the organizer based on the content of the application.
- For all participants, accommodation is provided on a full board basis (double, triple and quadruple rooms) and joint transport is organized from Podgorica to Vučje (March 16) and return (March 21).
- It is desirable that participants have their own laptop (otherwise, the organizer provides a device).
