Cilj projekta

In the Western Balkans, women have less access to ownership and financial services, lower employment rates, and lower incomes. Differences in activity between men and women stem from traditional gender-based norms. CARE Austria and CARE Balkan have developed the project "Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women of the Western Balkans (EWI)," a three-year intervention aimed at empowering women in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro to be active and create opportunities that address the needs within the context of economic rights. The project will support 350 women through business training, assist 182 women-led organizations with business development support, provide access to employment training for 2,000 vulnerable women, and offer professional education opportunities for 200 young women. Additionally, 500 men will be involved in the project through sessions that encourage critical understanding of gender-based norms, while 400 stakeholders from the active advocacy field will participate throughout the project's duration. Through planned campaigns, 40,000 citizens will be engaged, and over 400,000 women will benefit from advocacy activities.
