Realized cooperation with Macedonian business and innovative ecosystem

15.02.2019.

Continuing the study visit, supported by the Ministry of Science of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, representatives of Tehnopolis cooperated with key actors of the Macedonian business and innovative ecosystems.

Recognizing the importance of quality acceleration programs for the development of the national start-up scene, the possibility to launch the first such accelerator in Montenegro in the future with Tehnopolis was considered with the CEED Hub’s management Skopje. In addition to this program, Gjorgji Kushevski COO CEED Hub has also presented their network of Business Angels, which has invested in Macedonian startups for the last five years, and on the same day representatives of Tehnopolis were able to attend the pitch of one of the startups in the presence of the network members.

Talking about the initiative for establishing Scientific Technology Park in Skopje, at the meeting with the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development, it was agreed that IEC Tehnopolis should share its knowledge and experience. The initiative was presented by Katarina Kreceva, a consultant in the programming department, which stated that international grants for commercialization of innovations will be soon published, through which it will be possible to achieve cooperation with the Montenegrin start-ups and scientific-research institutions.

Concrete cooperation on projects with the National Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning (NCDIEL) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was also agreed, which presented a large number of activities that are being realized together with the Business Startup Center of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius.

The visit to Macedonia was concluded with the visit to the Embassy of Montenegro, where a meeting was held with Jelena Milacic VD ambassador and Tatjana Perovic Mitrov, Head of the Department for Economic Affairs and Tourism, whom we thank for providing assistance in organizing meetings as well as on the readiness to continue our cooperation through linking with relevant stakeholders from Macedonia.
