Support for the ideas of social entrepreneurship and the development of young people from the Western Balkans
WESTERN BALKANS – The RISE project announces the second open call for applications of young entrepreneurs from Albania, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, and Serbia to develop their ideas on social entrepreneurship.
Six local incubators from these countries are looking for young people aged 18 to 35 from the Western Balkans, who speak English well enough to actively participate in the international program and who will apply in a team of at least two people, and are ready to learn about social entrepreneurship, having the ambition to develop a concrete idea with a positive social impact. Participation in the RISE project develops the skills of young people and contributes to their employment.
To be able to apply you need to fulfill the following criteria:
- that you have identified a social and/or environmental problem that you want to solve;
- that you started working on your idea to a lesser extent / independently, but you have not yet engaged in real business activity;
- that the idea you are applying for is not already supported/funded by another existing support program.
All additional details and conditions for application can be found in the Public Invitation.
Applications are open until September 26 at the LINK.
The goal of RISE (Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs) is to improve the social entrepreneurship ecosystem of the Western Balkans and enable young people to develop innovative social solutions, thus contributing to reconciliation and cooperation in the region. Positive change in the Western Balkans is possible, while stability and prosperity can only be achieved by fostering reconciliation and cooperation in the region. RISE Journey is a specially tailored program in which participation is free and which will help you learn, grow and make changes in your environment.
The project promotes dialogue and cooperation between actors and territories through the mobility of its participants, organizing regional training, exchanging workshops and events, as well as creating a real network of young entrepreneurs. It is a three-year project that started on October 1, 2019, and is being implemented throughout the Western Balkans.
You can find more about the possibilities as well as about the project itself at: www.risewb.org.
About social entrepreneurship
A social enterprise is a driver of the social economy that aims to have an impact on society more than making money for owners or stakeholders. It operates by providing goods and services to the market in an entrepreneurial and innovative way and uses its profits primarily to achieve social goals. It is managed openly and responsibly, and in particular involves employees, consumers, and stakeholders directly affected by its commercial activities. It’s a job for the social good!
