Round table “Festivals as promoters of the cities, festivals as destinations” in Tehnopolis

24.08.2017.

Today at Tehnopolis round table “Festivals as promoters of the cities, festivals as destinations” was organized, which also announced the beginning of the eighth Bedem fest, which will take place at the Niksic fortress from August 24th to 26th.

The round table was organized with the goal to connect representatives of relevant ministries, local authorities and local services, on the one hand, and festival organizers, on the other, to agree and exchange views on manifestation tourism that shows very positive effects on the destinations in which festivals are held.

Petar Sundic, director of Bedem Fest, said that the round table is a good opportunity for decision-makers and festival organizers to create a common strategy to improve life in the city, when it comes to the positive effects that festivals bring.

“This is the first time in Montenegro, when it comes to festivals, to make organizers and representatives of relevant institutions sit together at the table and talk about what a festival brings and what we all can do together to improve the overall environment of our activities. I think that Bedem fest has brought a nice voice about Niksic as a great host city, with good music and a great audience. In times when the quality of music is brought under the question mark, we are a dam and someone who exists for eight years, which proves that we are a bastion of freedom, primarily art and culture”, said Sundic.

The round table was organized by the NGO “Pro futuro”, the organizer of Bedem fest within the project “#VisitBedem”, which was supported by the Municipality of Niksic, and in cooperation with IEC Tehnopolis.
