Second SkEye project workshop: Smart and sustainable transport – The potential of urban air mobility in Montenegro

IEC Tehnopolis is organizing a “Workshop on Smart and Sustainable Transport” which will bring together all relevant stakeholders interested in discussing the potential of urban air mobility in Montenegro on October 25, 2021. The workshop will be organized with the support of Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale (Italy) and the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority within the SkEye project.

During the one-day workshop, we will discuss the potential for innovation in air mobility in Montenegro, with a focus on research and incentives for innovation, existing air mobility infrastructure, and the legal framework in Montenegro for air mobility, especially drone operation (UAV) and investment opportunities in Montenegro. Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale (Italy) will also present Italian and European experience and best practices in the field of advanced air mobility and urban air mobility.

The participants of the workshop will be representatives of local and national institutions and organizations working in the field of air mobility, but also start-ups, small and medium enterprises, universities, and researchers interested in working on technologies that will contribute to the development of innovative solutions in air mobility. Participants will be encouraged to discuss the possibilities of creating and developing their ideas related to this topic with a special focus on innovative solutions for air mobility in cities that could be applied in the current and development environment of air mobility in Montenegro and Niksic.

This workshop will support the innovative air environment in Montenegro through a comprehensive insight into the European strategy on smart and sustainable transport, and especially on urban air mobility (UAM), which is expected to have a positive impact on the development of urban and smart suburbs. UAM is a new safe, and sustainable air transport system for passengers and cargo in urban areas, enabled by new technologies and integrated into multimodal transport systems. Therefore, UAM is becoming one of the European priorities aimed at improving the quality of life of people, especially those living in large and busy cities, by encouraging the development of aviation technology.

The workshop will be held on the premises of IEC Tehnopolis with the possibility of an online presence. For more information contact us by e-mail at [email protected].

Workshop on smart and sustainable transport – The potential of urban air mobility in Montenegro, is organized within the project Strengthening Key Space Technology for Smart Transport Monitoring Systems (Strengthening Key aErospace technology for smart transport monitoring systems – SkEye) co-financed by the European Union through Interreg IPA CBC program Italy – Albania – Montenegro.
