The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis continues to boost the startup ecosystem, strengthening Montenegro’s economy with valuable ideas and projects that make a difference. As part of the pre-acceleration program BoostMeUp, 10 innovative teams have been selected, supported by the unity of Tehnopolis’ partners who contribute their knowledge and energy to this initiative. This year, the program welcomes the support of the company One, an enthusiast in the world of innovation. The three stories presented below are diverse but share a common characteristic. Through their practical applications, they represent outstanding business ideas with enormous potential to enhance citizens’ daily lives.
AI Heal: Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Saving Lives
The power of data is transforming the world, and artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of our lives, personalizing experiences and choices across various platforms. Its application in medicine is expected to become a vital tool, although many agree that the surface of this field has only just been scratched.
This noble idea is the foundation of AI Heal, a project aiming to develop technology that supports diagnostics, reduces costs and optimizes healthcare.
“AI Heal is a diagnostic platform based on artificial intelligence that ensures doctors can follow diagnostic decision-making protocols with increased accuracy in a way they understand,” said Aleksandar Bojovic, representing his team and explaining the potential for significant advancements in healthcare services, ultimately improving health outcomes for the population.
“The key innovative contribution of the proposed system is a synergistic concept of artificial intelligence that combines the accuracy of deep learning algorithms with classical algorithmic reasoning on which treatment protocols are based. The prototype system will initially focus on diagnosing and treating ischemic heart diseases. How many lives could have been saved using such systems, especially in regions where medical services are not easily, adequately, or promptly accessible?” added his colleague Andrijana Blecic.
The team emphasized that participating in the BoostMeUp program, which has years of experience fostering startups, allowed them to organize the necessary steps for further project development.
“Our startup trusts the company One to provide a fast and reliable mobile network,” said the creators of this idea, which places artificial intelligence in the service of saving lives.
Boqo: An Idea That Illuminates the Darkness
Sustainable design practice is expanding in modern times, prioritizing human needs. Light, a fundamental element of life, is at the forefront of these considerations. However, according to the team behind Boqo, even today in Montenegro, there are living and working spaces that fail to meet minimum lighting criteria. Boqo aims to bring light to these spaces by combining innovation and tradition in construction.
“Boqo introduces revolutionary translucent fiber-cement panels that integrate modern technologies into traditional construction materials. This approach offers a completely new dimension of design and functionality in architecture,” said Bogdan Kustudic.
The team members highlighted that the BoostMeUp program recognizes essential ideas that cater to human needs, and their product puts people first.
“We identified the opportunity to implement our solution in spaces with a significant deficit of natural light. Boqo is developing solutions that transport light into such spaces,” said Boban Baosic, emphasizing the potential collaboration with the company One, which offers reliable internet connectivity, optical cables, and information flow, crucial for their work.
Convinced that their idea aligns perfectly with modern demands, the authors plan its internationalization, urging professionals to consider these influences and society to establish standards where light becomes a rule rather than an exception.
UrbanView
Another idea designed for architecture and urban planning is UrbanView, led by Mihailo Plamenac.
“Our web platform facilitates informed decision-making for investors, architects, and urban planners in the early stages of a project,” he explained.
Plamenac emphasized that the BoostMeUp program provided mentorship support, enabling them to refine their business idea and focus on the right goals.
“In this way, we are improving our business strategy and preparing for market launch. The support of the company One has been significant. Thanks to their expert assistance, we have enhanced our business model and accelerated the development of our platform,” he added, outlining their plans for the future.
“The first step is creating a proof of concept, followed by launching an MVP version of the platform and acquiring initial users. Ultimately, we aim to introduce advanced functionalities and expand to larger markets,” he stated.
The BoostMeUp program is led by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis, with partners including the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, the University of Montenegro, ICT Hub Belgrade, One Montenegro, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro, and the Environmental Protection Fund (Eco Fund). The program is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation and the Government of Montenegro.
