A press conference was held on the occasion of the Ceremonial handover of equipment for mechatronics and robotics to the Vocational High School from Niksic and the “Slobodan Skerovic” Gymnasium from Podgorica, through the iNnovaNet project, which the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis implements in collaboration with the Zenica Development Agency Zeda (BIH), Industrial Park Nova Gradiška (HRV), and the City of Gradiska (B&H), financed through the INTERREG IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro program.

After a brief presentation of the project, the Acting General Director of the Directorate for European Funds in the Ministry of European Affairs, Bojan Vujovic, addressed the attendees, stating that this project is a great indicator of how European Union funds can be used for very quality initiatives: “This is precisely seen in this example of donating valuable equipment for mechatronics and robotics to secondary schools. I would also highlight IEC Tehnopolis as a good example of how projects financed by the European Union can significantly improve the service and what is offered to the community through such an organization. I would like to take this opportunity to invite Tehnopolis and the directors of high schools to see us as direct partners in the project through the first call in the new cross-border cooperation program IPA Croatia – BiH – Montenegro, in addition to this form of cooperation.”

The directors of the Vocational High School from Niksic and the “Slobodan Skerovic” Gymnasium from Podgorica emphasized the importance of the donated equipment and the impact it will have in future work with students in applying theoretical knowledge in practice. “We are honored to be part of this significant project, which has spawned many opportunities for improving the teaching process in our school. Thanks to IEC Tehnopolis and this project, we are receiving very valuable equipment for use on an unlimited time basis. This equipment will serve in the regular implementation of teaching content, and we are starting with the first workshops at the end of this week in the premises we have specially allocated for this purpose,” stated the director of the “Slobodan Skerovic” Gymnasium Podgorica, Biljana Vucurovic.

The director of the Vocational High School Niksic, Milisav Kosovic, emphasized his pleasure in representing the institution today and receiving very valuable equipment from IEC Tehnopolis, with whom cooperation began in March this year when a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed. “Through the iNnovaNet project, our school has received valuable equipment and necessary training for professors who have further educated and perfected their knowledge. The equipment includes sectors of mechatronics, electrical engineering, programming, and energetics and will be extremely useful in the realization of practical classes, preparation of students for competitions, and extracurricular sections. The high-technology equipment will enable students to build their capacities and develop innovative products, thereby increasing their competitiveness in the labor market.”

The Executive Director of IEC Tehnopolis, Djordjije Malovic, welcomed the attendees and shared his pleasure that the two schools, by signing today’s contract, will have the opportunity to receive very valuable equipment that will adorn their cabinets in the future. “What I encountered upon taking office as the executive director of IEC Tehnopolis is the incredible energy from secondary school teachers in all activities during the project implementation. It is interesting to note that besides the cabinets for robotics and mechatronics in the “Slobodan Skerovic” gymnasium, a cabinet for physics was also equipped. I would like to thank the Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro and Mr. Bojan Vujovic for their excellent cooperation and generous support. The project is being successfully implemented, and a seed has been planted that will yield results in terms of the development of secondary education in Montenegro, as well as the development of the local community.”

The press conference was organized to present the project results to the public and highlight the importance of investing in school capacities, in this specific case, the Vocational High School from Niksic and the “Slobodan Škerović” Gymnasium from Podgorica, to which the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis through the mentioned project provided support in the form of equipping cabinets for robotics and mechatronics. The mentioned cabinets will be available to teachers and high school students to familiarize themselves with the innovative, multidisciplinary approach that combines knowledge from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and management, all to strengthen their capacities and competencies, increase employment opportunities, and creating innovative solutions in various fields.

The iNnovaNet project is implemented to improve the business environment through the creation of new favorable and innovative mechanisms of business support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as improving the work of all business support organizations involved in the project by strengthening staff capacities through acquiring new knowledge and skills and creating a network of centers.
