The long-awaited Cross Border Coworking Conference (CBCC) 2024: Digital Nomads Edition has officially begun

11.10.2024

Today, the Cross Border Coworking Conference (CBCC) 2024: Digital Nomads Edition kicked off at INTERA Technology Park in Mostar. This prestigious event, dedicated to digital nomads, remote work, and coworking communities, has gathered participants from around the world, from local entrepreneurs to international industry experts. The conference will last two days, offering attendees the chance to participate in workshops, panels, and discussions addressing the future of remote work and digital nomadism in the region and beyond.

The first day of the conference features a rich program, including interactive workshops covering topics such as strategic service promotion and practical advice for digital nomads, as well as for anyone looking to optimize their work. Some of the keynote speakers shared their experiences in developing coworking communities in less-developed regions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation for future progress.

“This year’s Cross Border Coworking Conference (CBCC) continues our mission to empower coworking spaces and the digital nomad community in the region. Through the Recooper program, INTERA TP has twice hosted five digital nomads in Mostar, where they spent 15 days enjoying the beauty of the region. Their enthusiasm motivated us to develop this story further. I’m also proud to highlight our coworking space, Code Hub Mostar, located in the city center, which serves as a key location for growing the digital nomad community in Herzegovina throughout the year,” said Mia Miočević, Community Manager at Code Hub Mostar.

Jelena Popivoda from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis emphasized that this year’s conference focuses on digital nomads. The aim is to present the Western Balkans as an attractive destination for the development of digital nomadism. She noted that IEC Tehnopolis, along with its partners, is bringing experts from around the world who, through workshops and informal conversations, share their experiences, while digital nomads offer insights to help improve the region.

Nora Dunn, a digital nomad, highlighted the importance of having a community and continuously networking with like-minded people and those with similar lifestyles. “I’ve spent the last two weeks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this country. The digital nomad community in Mostar is outstanding, and Mostar has everything needed to be the perfect place for digital nomads. The rich and diverse culture, delicious food, affordable cost of living, and coworking spaces all enable productivity. Based on my experience, I can say that Mostar is ideal for digital nomads.”

Nadia Harris, founder of the Remote Work Advocate platform, mentioned that this region offers a lot, primarily due to its natural beauty and surroundings. People are tired of living in concrete jungles, and Bosnia and Herzegovina is becoming increasingly popular among digital nomads, not only because of nature but also due to affordable living costs.

Tamara Kojic, Community Specialist, addressed the media, stating that this is the 4th edition of the CBCC conference, previously held in Budva, Jahorina, and Niksic. The goal of the traveling conference is to bring the regional community closer to digital nomads and allow local operators to connect with this target group. This year’s CBCC conference includes two key speakers: Paul Bradbury, who has lived and worked in Croatia for 20 years, and Andrea Paoletti, who will present a successful digital nomadism project in Italy.

On the second day of the conference, October 11, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an excursion through the natural beauty of Herzegovina and a special outdoor stand-up session. This informal part of the conference will provide further networking opportunities in a unique setting. The program will conclude with an evening gathering, where participants can relax and discuss ideas generated during the workshops and presentations.

With participants from all over the world, Mostar has become a gathering place for digital nomads, innovators, and professionals who share a common vision—transforming how we work, collaborate, and create new growth opportunities.

The Cross Border Coworking Conference 2024: Digital Nomads Edition is organized by INTERA Technology Park and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis, in collaboration with Deli Creative Workspace. This year’s edition is also supported and co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Government of Montenegro, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro, the City of Mostar, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of HNC/HNK, as well as Telemach, Native Teams, NX2U, and Aperol, along with media partners Bljesak.info, Radio Television Niksic, and Nezavisne novine.
