A meeting “Perspectives for the development of the blue economy” was held in Tehnopolis as part of the BLUEAIR project

Today, a meeting called “Perspectives for the development of the blue economy” was held in the premises of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis .

The event was organized as part of the international project “Blue Growth Smart Adriatic Ionian S3 – BLUEAIR”, which is co-financed by the European Union as part of the “Interreg V-B Adriatic-Ionian program” – ADRION program, and is carried out by 11 partner organizations and 20 associated partners from the Adriatic-Ionian region. In addition to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis, partners from Montenegro are the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism.

The main goal of the event was to present the results of the BlueAir project – the BlueAir Innovation Strategy, the BlueAir Innovation Community, as well as the Blue Growth Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP).

Mr. Bozidar Colakovic, Project Management Associate – IPC Tehnopolis, emphasized that the goal of the created BlueAir Innovation Strategy is to provide direction, coherence and optimization of resources, which will enable stakeholders to progress in competitive environments, while preserving the sustainability of the environment and natural habitats.

Mr. Colakovic also highlighted the formation of the BlueAir Innovation Community, which represents an open platform for the improvement and simplification of cooperation in the field of innovation at the territorial and macro-regional level with the aim of accelerating the development of the blue economy in the Adriatic and Ionian regions.

Speaking about the Blue Growth Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP) within the blue economy, Mrs. Ana Filipovic, Independent Advisor in the Projects Sector of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, said that it represents a central element of the Smart Specialization Strategy and aims to determine how regional or national priorities for investment in research and innovation are chosen and developed over time.

The main goals of the BlueAir project are to support the development of the innovation system in the Adriatic-Ionian region, improve the competencies of actors in the area of blue growth, identify sectors of macro-regional interest and use the potential for transnational cooperation.

The BlueAir project is financed under the Interreg ADRION Programme, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the IPA II Fund.
