BoostMeUp pre-acceleration program is entering the final stage of its third cycle. Ten teams are gearing up for the Montenegro Pitching Competition after months of work with mentors on developing their ideas.
In preparation for this significant event, we proudly reflect on one of the program’s most successful and beautiful stories – the startup Spectro Solutions.
The young, innovative, and intelligent individuals comprising this team applied to BoostMeUp in 2022 with a revolutionary idea – to develop AI software based on video analytics to solve the problem of uncontrolled wildfire spread. At that moment, their idea existed only as a concept, and they saw the program as an opportunity to realize their vision.
“Our decision to apply for the BoostMeUp pre-acceleration program came at a time when we were in the concept phase, still without a developed prototype, but with foundational research that enabled us, with the support of mentors from the program, to direct further development, both from a business perspective and from the perspective of software development,” emphasizes Ana Ašanin, executive director of Spectro Solutions. Ana highlights that technical support was crucial for them, especially the opportunity to use resources from the IPC Tehnopolis DATA center, which accelerated their technical development, considering the need for strong processing capacities in AI startup development. She mentions that in addition to technical support, BoostMeUp provided them with crucial knowledge in the areas of business, finance, marketing strategy development, and intellectual property protection.
After completing the pre-acceleration program, Spectro Solutions presented the beta version of the software to the Civil Protection and other relevant institutions, thus starting the active testing phase in real-life scenarios.
They have attended numerous innovative events in Montenegro and the region, including the Tomorrow Conference in Belgrade as part of the BoostMeUp delegation, the startup competition Green Future Conference in Split, where Spectro won the first prize, and participated in the “Days of Science and Innovation 2023” festival organized by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development and the company Five Group, where Spectro conducted two activities (Spectro Demo Day and Spectro Green Congress Podgorica) in cooperation with the Capital City and the company One Montenegro, as the top-ranked project.
However, their successes don’t end there. Spectro also won the startup competition Winter Demo Day, organized by Impact Hub in Belgrade. Additionally, they were granted innovation grants from the organization Help Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, a startup development support grant from the Capital City, and support from the Innovation Fund aimed at early-stage startup development.
All these activities undoubtedly result from the dedicated work and effort of the Spectro Solutions team over the past period. However, Ana Ašanin particularly emphasizes the support they received through the pre-acceleration program: “The key role in our success belongs to the BoostMeUp program, which contributed to our development from the very beginning.”
Spectro Solutions has demonstrated how synergy between innovative ideas, technological support, and strategic resources can yield results that exceed expectations. Their story represents an exceptional source of pride for the entire community and underscores the importance of investing in supporting startups, creating innovative solutions, and strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit.
We are proud to be part of their story and firmly believe that real successes await them!
