With the ceremonial opening of the BioTourS Dolphin Center and the educational, interactive exhibition, visitors will be given the opportunity through various activities to learn more about the characteristics of cetaceans and their habitats, with special attention to the species that inhabit the area of the Adriatic Sea. Also, the Center of this kind will in the future represent a central point for tourist activities related to the preservation of cetaceans in the Adriatic basin.
The opening of the BioTourS Dolphin Center will be organized as part of the BioTours project, which aims to introduce the best practices in sustainable tourism, preserve the natural heritage of the Adriatic Sea and involve young people in cross-border tourism activities that will raise awareness of whale conservation. Partners in the project are Ionian Dolphin Conservation (ITA), the National Tourist Agency of Albania and the Municipality of Termoli (ITA).
The BioTours project was financed through the program INTERREG IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro.
